About this book
Reading doesn't stop at the classroom door. Children become lifelong readers when they get to choose books they love, build libraries of their own, and share stories with the people around them.
Your gift helps Stories of a Colorful World build that culture of reading across New York City, in classrooms, at home, and in our neighborhoods. At checkout, choose where you'd like it to go:
- Where it's needed most: we'll direct it to our most urgent need.
- Summer Is Lit!: free outdoor reading festivals with BIPOC authors, crafts, and book giveaways for families.
- Classroom Libraries: curated BIPOC-authored collections for NYC classrooms.
- Book Fair Fund: helps schools with limited budgets host diverse book fairs.
Closing the literacy gap will take all of us. Every gift, from $5 to $1,000, brings more children to books that reflect who they are and who they can become. Stories of a Colorful World is a for-profit company, so contributions are not tax-deductible.
